If you find out your friend is smoking, first of all they should not be pressuring you to smoke. It is important not to give in to peer pressure. They probably won’t want to be lectured at and may not listen, but if you think you might be able to talk to them, then gently explain that you don’t think there is any benefit in smoking and you are worried about their health and would prefer them to stop smoking, or at least reduce the amount they are smoking. If they do want to quit smoking then they should visit their GP who can provide them with the right help (confidentially).
