Yes. I had a really good English teacher, and the skills I learned about structuring and writing essays has proved really helpful. I write a lot in my job, including book chapters and research articles.
Skills I learned in IT, like using word processing software, PowerPoint, etc. have helped too. I use these for lectures, etc.
Finally, communication skills are really important. Sometimes it can be hard to do a presentation, or it can be challenging to do a group-work task. But these tasks helped me prepare for things I now do in my job, like give a lecture or work with other researchers on a project.
