• Question: Hi Amy Warnock! I have a question regarding your work. Isn't if normal,if someone is happy, to have a different food choice? Is there any differences? If so, what are they?

Hi Amirull! We actually still know very little about how happiness can change food choices so that’s why I’m doing my research! I’m afraid I can’t give you a clear answer yet (hopefully after a few more years of research I’ll know more!) but it is very likely that being happy can change what and how much we eat as there are lots of links in the brain between areas that control mood and those that control feeding. It’s also very likely that it will be different for different people – for example we know that when it comes to stress and feeding, there are some people that eat more when they’re stressed, some people that eat less, and some people who don’t change what they eat at all. I think it’ll probably be similar for happiness and feeding as well!
